Job – WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development. This position requires a combination of programming skills namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. The WordPress Developer will work closely with our design and marketing teams to bring new websites and web applications to life, as well as maintain and improve our existing sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites: Build, configure, and manage high-quality WordPress sites from conception to launch.
  • Front-end development: Implement responsive designs using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Back-end development: Write robust, secure, and efficient PHP code.
  • Integrate third-party services: Connect websites with various APIs and third-party services (e.g., social media, e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, CRMs).
  • Website optimization: Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug: Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other technical problems.
  • Security management: Ensure the security of all websites and implement best practices to prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver exceptional results.
  • Stay current: Keep up-to-date with the latest WordPress and web development trends and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience of at least 4+ years as a WordPress Developer. 
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with WordPress core, hooks, filters, and the REST API.
  • Hands-on experience with popular page builders like Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder.
  • Familiarity with database management, especially MySQL.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to implement them in WordPress.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A portfolio of past projects demonstrating your skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus Points):

  • Experience with headless WordPress and frameworks like next.js
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Experience with cPanel and its features (file manager, databases, email accounts, etc.).
  • Experience with WooCommerce or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Knowledge of command-line tools like WP-CLI.
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
  • Experience with server-side technologies and environments (e.g., Apache, Nginx, cPanel).
  • Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques.
